Postural related conditions

Prolonged poor posture places excessive strain on soft tissues provoking pain.

This may occur with sitting too long in a slouched posture, sleeping with the head in an awkward position or working in a strained position. Poor posture may in itself cause pain but if you do not know how to correct this it will often cause already developed problems to worsen.

Treatment is about learning how to recognise this and be shown how to correct it. How to sit and stand well and be given exercises to reduce and abolish your pain.

There is usually a lot we can do to help ourselves once we have been shown how.
