Ligament Sprain
Ligaments help form the stability of a joint. Ends of ligaments attach to bone therefore ligament injuries may lead to instability of a joint.
Treatment of a ligament sprain involves promotion of tissue healing, mobilisation to prevent joint stiffness and muscle strengthening to avoid further damage and additional strength to the joint.
During assessment it is always important to take a detailed history to find out how it happened and is it the first time. This way we can try to avoid further recurrences.
