Rehabilitation post joint surgery
If you have had joint replacement such as a total hip replacement, total knee replacement or reconstruction after ligament damage, it is important to regain strength and restore movement.
A treatment program is worked out after a detailed assessment to identify the problems. This will involve rehabilitation to restore activities in daily living or to a level of previous fitness.
Each person is an individual and therefore their needs are considered differently. It may be you need to gain confidence in every day tasks or to help eliminate a limp by gait re-education. Initially it is about gaining short term goals and then progressing as strength and flexibility improves and the joint becomes more stable.
